CycleSwitch

For independent UK bike shops

Part-exchange that brings riders back to your counter.

CycleSwitch lets riders value their current bike online, trade it in at a local bike shop and put the value towards their next one. We're signing up a small group of pilot shops before we launch in early 2027.

  • Free to join the pilot
  • No commitment
  • Launching early 2027

Why shops join

One sale becomes two.

A rider who trades in is a rider buying their next bike from you. The bike they leave behind is stock you can sell again.

  • More upgrade sales

Riders arrive with a valuation already in hand and put the trade-in value towards a bike from your shop.

  • Your stock, your floor

Traded-in bikes stay with you. CycleSwitch never owns or holds stock.

  • Sell online if you want to

List traded-in bikes on CycleSwitch to reach buyers across the UK, or simply sell them in store. It's your choice.

  • Less work at the counter

Riders get their valuation online before they visit, so you spend your time checking the bike, not haggling over it.

How it works

Three steps, from your side of the counter.

  1. A rider values their bike

They enter the make, model and condition at cycleswitch.co.uk and get an indicative valuation, then choose a partner shop.

  2. You check it in store

They bring the bike in. You inspect it and confirm the trade-in, and the value goes towards their next bike from you.

  3. You sell it on

The traded-in bike is yours. Sell it in store, list it on CycleSwitch for buyers nationwide, or both.

Who does what

  • You inspect the bike and confirm the trade-in.
  • CycleSwitch provides the online valuation, the listing tools and the payment flow.
  • Nothing goes live for your shop until you've completed onboarding and agreed the partner terms.

Questions

What shop owners ask us.

What does it cost?

Joining the pilot is free. We'll confirm partner pricing before launch, and nothing is charged until you've seen the terms and agreed to them.

Am I committing to anything?

No. Registering tells us you're interested. You decide whether to go ahead when we onboard you before launch.

Who owns the traded-in bikes?

You do. Bikes stay on your shop floor. CycleSwitch never buys or holds stock.

Do I have to sell bikes online?

No. Listing traded-in bikes on CycleSwitch is optional. You can sell them in store as you do today.

Who sets the final trade-in value?

The rider arrives with an online valuation. You check the bike in store before the trade-in is confirmed.

What will onboarding involve?

Agreeing the partner terms, a check of your business details and setting up how you get paid. We'll walk you through it.

When does CycleSwitch launch?

Early 2027. Pilot shops will hear from us well before then.

About

Built by someone who's done this before.

Since 2014

CycleSwitch began in 2014 as UK Cycle Centre, a bike part-exchange business run with independent shops. Founder Adam Broadhurst has bought and sold bikes since he was 16.

The relaunch rebuilds the service with modern technology and puts local bike shops at the centre of it.
